Yasuyuki Ozeki
Having decided to hop off the ‘escalator of life’ in Japan, Yasuyuki Ozeki completed a mammoth personal cycling challenge – from Japan to Ireland . He turned his extraordinary journey into a book, Against the Wind, which was first published in Japan in 2002. In 2004, Yaz tackled his ‘7 Peaks in 7 Weeks’ project – a cycling tour around Ireland which included the assent of each of its highest peaks, with his bike on his back. Regular calls to the Gerry Ryan Show on 2FM charted his progress. Unable to resist the call of a good pint of the black stuff, Yaz now permanently lives in Ireland .
