Nicola Lindsay,

Nicola Lindsay, author of Butterfly,Tumbling Jude, Eden Fading, A Place for Unicorns,Diving Through Clouds.

Born in London, Nicola Lindsay has lived in Ireland on and off for more than thirty years and feels more at home here than anywhere else in the world.  She has traveled fairly extensively abroad and has lived in Africa, France, England and Italy.

She nursed, modeled, grew plants, taught and played the flute before finding out in her fifties that writing was the thing she really wanted to do.  With four books published in the last five years, the production of a cassette of her reading her own poetry and inclusion in many Irish and English anthologies, she now hangs on to the belief that perhaps she is not wasting her own and other people’s time after all!

She has hosted her own weekly Arts Slot on the Declan Meehan morning show on East Coast Radio and has appeared several times on RTE’s Open House. She has contributed to Sunday Miscellany and has written scripts for Lyric FM and RTE.

Nicola has worked in Lagos, Nigeria where she performed on stage, television and radio as an actor, singer, and flautist.  She has made many TV commercials and has featured in the opening and closing sequences of RTE’s Off The Rails.  She has also taken part in films, Zardoz, The Blue Max, Barry Lyndon, The Americans, The General and The Ambassador.  She has also worked in Fair City and Glenroe.
