Anne Marie grew up in the pretty village of Blarney, Co Cork, in her parents’ hotel. She attended school locally and in Cork city and then went on to do an Honours Degree in English and Geography at UCC and then subsequently  a Masters Degree in Rural and Urban Planning at UCD.  She has worked as a Town Planner in Dublin, Dundalk, Wicklow, Cork and Melbourne.

She is married to Robert Plant (but not the Robert Plant!) and they have two children, Lucy and Sylvie, plus a dog called Milo. Anne Marie and Robert have traveled extensively throughout Asia, Australia, Mexico, Europe, Africa, India and America.

As well as writing, Anne Marie now co-owns a craft shop in Blarney and after many years living in Dublin, she has moved back to Cork where she lives near the village Riverstick, outside Kinsale – a big change after many years of city living.
