Catherine Daly has two children and lives with her husband in Rathfarnham. Herself and her husband own an old French farmhouse in the Dordogne area in France, which is where the inspiration for the book came from. Her hobbies are writing, reading and cooking - especially French food!
Everyone has a secret.
Intimate and precious, or dark and dangerous.
Love can be both.
"I have been scheming for years to shift Richard. Once, a shift on a sweaty dance floor would have satisfied me. But as you get older, horizons broaden and close dancing is no longer enough. So I reflected anyway that night. Next door he lay in his fiancee's bed. Soon they would be married and I would still be scheming to shift him."
Helen Gordon, wickedly funny heroine of "The Pineapple Tart" and "A Soft Touch", is now looking for a job as well as a man. Typically, she runs through careers even faster than she runs through love-interests, taking on everything from novel-writing to working in a Wild West theme park.
One way or another she is determined to grovel her way to the top, but her infatuation with her best friend's bridegroom distracts her.
But surely even Helen must get lucky eventually?
